The University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill is interested in identifying opportunities to impact healthcare by engaging thought leaders from across the university. In particular, the university’s health system sought to understand the points of view of a diverse collective of clinicians, strategists, and administrators. It also needed a framework to explore realities relevant to today’s healthcare landscape, including topics such as aging-in-place, medication adherence, and population health management.
The Institute facilitated a Discovery Workshop focused on the notion of problem seeking rather than problem solving. A structured design studio experience allowed teams to explore six unique healthcare topics through the lens of a breadth of design tools—ultimately articulating problem statements intended to fuel a design conversation towards solutions that will be implemented.
- Design, execution, and facilitation of custom workshop and supporting content, tools, and resources.
- Six fully-articulated problem statements to fuel ongoing solution design.
